Another Juicy Bit Of 'Carrie' Given Away

Trailers today... Constantly giving away too much. This has to be one of the coolest moments for the audience. Our surrogate, our protagonist, the person we care about, has taken control of her life and strikes back. However, as we've seen it way before the movie opens, will it mean anything to the audience sitting in the dark in the theater having paid money to be there opening night?

Where's the thrill? Where's the exclusivity in being at the theater before the movie is available via other (legal) means? What will you tell your friends who didn't see the movie if they've seen all the good stuff in trailers already?

Hollywood is desperate to protect its interest from threats like streaming, too many choices keeping people from going out to the movies, and, above all, piracy, but studios insist on giving away the best parts of the movie (for free) before it plays in theaters. No wonder attendance is down.

From the looks of it they did a nice job with this remake. If they keep serving up pivotal plot points in trailers, though, nobody will even bother to illegally download 'Carrie'. What would be the point?
