Been rolling around since last year but is just being released this weekend.
Reviews aren't glowing but have a curiously positive quality. Like they're ashamed or maybe embarrassed to say something good about this story. Like they enjoyed the movie more than they want to admit.
IGN: "...manages to keep the tension high so that the film is as much endurance test as entertainment."
Joe Leydon/Variety: "Cheap Thrills" is a thoroughly nasty piece of work, which doubtless will be the strongest selling point for this worst-case scenario about steadily escalating dares and degradations.

Fanboy press and word-of-mouth buzz could possibly attract a few mainstream moviegoers, but it's more likely that this Drafthouse Films release will remain an acquired taste for an appreciative cult.
FilmSchoolRejects: ...the last shot is fantastic and makes up for any disappointment to be had from the film not really having the twist it felt like it was hinting at.
Currently scoring 97% fresh on Tomatometer.
