Visual Opiate

Watching this featurette/trailer for '300: Rise of an Empire' lulls the mind and tickles the eyes and, as such, serves as a preview of how you're intended to feel for the entire 102 minute runtime. There should be little to no break in the fluff for story or genuine character. This is visual opiate -- stupefying, fun, relentless.

I guess my only objective observation would be: Do we want or need to see the entire movie? Isn't a three minute trailer enough? Isn't the rest simply more of the same?

I don't think I could take three more minutes of completely different footage -- not right now. The first three minutes needs to wear off before I can watch more without worrying about overdosing, perhaps lapsing into a coma. I certainly couldn't take an hour and a half straight sitting in a movie theater.

I'll watch on disc, a few minutes at a time. Probably take a couple weeks to see the whole thing. That way I won't have to go into mindless-movie rehab afterward.
