Christopher Nolan (with co-writer Jonathan Nolan) have grabbed the bull by the horns. 'Interstellar' deals with the possibility of travelling long distances in space but it doesn't gloss over the practical problems: Extreme hibernation needed to survive 50 or 100 or 1000 years in transit like most movies -- think 'Prometheus'.
We're asked to believe this can be done, something audiences may not accept from a movie without toothy monsters. Coming from this writer/director team, though...one has faith.
Still, I wonder if this will fly with ticket-buying folks. We'll find out the second weekend.
