Here's the Super Bowl ad for 'Draft Day'. I'm liking this, being drawn toward it, almost against my will. Sports movies... I just don't go there too much. But, this one has an elegance. It's probably Ivan Reitman's old-school direction.
Kevin Costner looks good, though. He's been showing up in more stuff lately and does things with an effortlessness -- easy to watch. Jennifer Garner has been in a few flicks lately as well. She's pretty easy to watch, too. You never sense a technical approach with her. Ellen Burstyn keeps your attention focused, seemingly without trying. Frank Langella always delivers and doesn't look like he's working. Terry Crews can't be a bad thing for a movie about football and he has that relaxed vibe.
Maybe that's it. Maybe, between the easy presence these actors have and Reitman's polished approach, it just clicks. Plus, this cast is so charming, brings so much charisma. If the script is good, this might work.
At the box office I wouldn't be surprised if 'Draft Day' did okay. This will probably turn out to be a strong rental and play well on cable/TV.

Super Popcorn Trailer For '3 Days To Kill'
No this isn't 'Taken Part X', and no that isn't Liam Neeson. (Now that the inevitable comparison is out of the way) Kevin Costner looks fantastic here. This strikes the perfect balance. Great rental potential.

'Ryan' Springs To Life
First trailer was, not to use technical terms but, pretty blah. Don't remember why but, then again, I don't really remember much about the trailer, period. 'Shadow Recruit' came off product-y, jangly, and I wasn't interested.
This edit is much better. I'm loving the look of this and Keira Knightley adds just the right touch. So do Kevin Costner and Kenneth Branagh, for that matter. Balances out that Chris Pine guy-in-line-at-Starbucks vibe.
I'd have to say Branagh has become a trusted director. This looks, dare I say it, tight. And, that Russian accent...
