Tense, Immersive

New trailer for 'Lone Survivor' does a good job putting the viewer in the action. Amped sound (like switching a rifle safety off is a huge snap), quick edits, great POV, camera that's too close -- all work together to immerse the viewer a situation very few ever experience.

Results feel good. Watching the action depicted you understand why these guys train so hard and why so few are accepted.

Getting great reviews, over-the-top reviews. Should be a crowd-pleaser.

Early Review Of 'Lone Survivor'

I had my doubts about 'Lone Survivor' and still haven't seen anything in trailers that convinces, but this early review from The Wrap's Jeff Sneider, who saw it last night in North Hollywood, is encouraging. He says:

...not only does the studio have something special on its hands, it seems to know it, too.

How else to explain Ron Meyer’s attendance? The vice chairman of NBCUniversal introduced Berg, stars Mark Wahlberg and Taylor Kitsch and the real star of the evening, former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, the American hero who wrote the book on which the movie is based and more important, survived the harrowing events it depicts.

He makes the bold claim that 'Lone Survivor' may be a match for Kathryn Bigelow's 'The Hurt Locker'. So, yes, I'm looking very forward to this one.
