'Here Comes the Devil' is a horror movie written and directed by Adrián García Bogliano who did 'B is for Bigfoot' from 'The ABCs of Death', and 'Penumbra'.
The title translation is a bit unfortunate. The original, 'Ahí va el Diablo', is I believe, literally, There Goes the Devil, which of course means nothing. A better try might be 'This Way The Devil Comes' or 'The Demon Approaches'.
What strikes me about the plot is its 70s vibe and fairly original and cool hook: Two teenagers explore a rocky hillside and go into a cave. The are missing for at least one night before being found by police. Once back home their behavior becomes increasingly strange and they tell stories of meeting a demon in the cave.
This looks like a psychologically suspenseful story that doesn't rely on shocks to creep out the audience. The only problem is a remake of a sexually charged plot like this, especially one involving teenagers or pre-teens, loaded with gruesome imagery, would have to be R-rated. You might be able to craft a PG-13 version but it would be problematic.
Nonetheless, I'd love to see a Hollywood version of this movie. Here's the new (red band) trailer.
