Director Scott Waugh (Act of Valor) looks to have done a great job. Editing by Paul Rubell (with Waugh) is especially effective. Rubell has cut a lot of demanding movies, among them Thor, Transformers, Collateral, and his excellent sense of rhythm shows here. A good editor is so valuable. These sequences hum.
Love the camera work by Shane Hurlbut as well.
'Need for Speed' is more than the average popcorn movie, at least from a technical standpoint. If the story delivers it should score at the box office. No matter how the movie does, as far as camera and editing go, this was a great team.
